ATF Search Warrant For Ares Armor Released

We have been following this case involving 80% Polymer Lower Receivers from the start, so we thought it would be great to see the Affidavit for Search Warrant that was recently released by court order in relation to the ATF Raid on Ares Armor. You can view it in its entirety below. We will save you the commentary, but it is interesting to see some faults including the assertion that firearms built at home are required to have serial number and that the EP Armory 80% Lower Receivers have a different colored plug that is not adhered to the rest of the product for easy removal to convert it into a firearm. Having seen the product, this is clearly not the case and must be completed just like any other 80% Lower Receiver.

Any assertion that this is a firearm, but other 80% Lowers readily sold are not is very arbitrary. In the scheme of things we don't see much new here, so are quite curious as to why it had to be sealed in the first place other than to cover up flawed reasoning that was presented to the judge. Ok, there we go spouting off again, read it and make your own decision on the matter. It should make for some good Saturday morning coffee reading.
