U.S. Army Seeking I.P. Rights for MultiCam

The Army Contracting Command has released an special notice that they will be seeking Government Purpose Rights from Crye Precision LLC for Operation Enduring Freedom Camouflage Pattern, commercially known as MultiCam. Essentially this will provide the government with I.P. rights to utilize the OCP Pattern (MultiCam) for a designated period presumably at a cost savings over their current arrangement for acquiring uniforms and equipment with the pattern.

What does this mean for the future of Army Camouflage? Who knows, since the Army has not currently released information related to the final decision gleaned from Phase IV of the U.S. Army Camouflage Improvement Effort. Any conjecture on our part would be speculation. What one can garner from this notice is that there will be a the utilization of MultiCam by the U.S. Army for the foreseeable future.
