Eton BoostTurbine Hand Powered Generators

The media definitely knows how to find a circumstance in a disaster to draw perspective on the situation. Today we saw several outlets covering those people in New York and New Jersey whom had power, taking out extension cords and power strips to allow those without power to charge their cell phones. You can take your own stance on what you think is right and wrong, but what if those people were not as kind in their nature or they too were without power. There are many products on the market today that allow you to have instant access to power when your general means are interrupted.

Eton BoostTurbine 1000 Hand Powered Generator
Eton out of Palo Alto, California just recently introduced their BoostTurbine 1000 and 2000 hand powered Turbine Generators. This is a simple concept that has been around for years, in fact we have several devices like this to run radios, flashlights, and other small electronics. This particular product was of interest to us due to the direct USB plug in, which will allow you to charge your cell phone with a little bit of elbow grease. The BoostTurbines come with a backup battery pack utilizing a rechargeable 1000mAH or 2000mAH lithium ion battery, hence the number tagged for differentiation.

Eton BoostTurbine 2000
The Boost Turbine 1000 and 2000 weigh in at 6.4 and 7 ounces respectively. The smaller of the two provides a half charge to most phones when fully cranked, while the larger version will fully charge most phones. This would be a great option to keep in any bug out bag or keep on you when out on outdoor excursions, with no power outlets in nearby. View full details and ordering at
