Columbia Omni-Freeze Zero Cooling Fabric

If this clothing technology from Columbia Sportswear works as purported, those that depend on high performance materials to keep them comfortable when working or performing outside will have completely different outlook on what they wear or don't wear during hot conditions. Columbia's Omni-Freeze Zero material incorporates small gel rings like those shown in the photo that are sweat activated and cool the clothing from the resulting reaction.

Trailspace has a video explanation from Outdoor Retailer Summer Market showing exactly how Columbia's new performance fabric works. Moisture wicking has been a catch phrase for quite some time in performance wear and this innovation actually puts the sweat to work rather than simply providing quicker evaporation.
