We had seen the Plate Frame up close as displayed by S&S Precision at SHOT Show and were impressed with the overall design. With a weight of only 1 pound 6 ounces, many see how this could be a game changer when it comes to plate carrier designs. So, we were quite excited to see the Plate Frame being put to use by a member of US Special Forces during a prep session for the stress test portion of Fuerza Comando in Colombia.

It comes as no surprise to see some of the most highly skilled soldiers utilizing the new innovative plate carrier during a military skills competition. Cutting ounces can certainly give an edge when it comes to speed and maneuverability. You can also see that the plates themselves as well as the harness system feature the MultiCam pattern to carry over the concealment capability.
Given the appearance of the finish on the plate this looks to be the new fabric sock cover first mentioned by Soldier Systems Daily, while covering the Warrior West Expo. The version we saw at SHOT had the camouflage directly applied to the plate and the frame, which we assumed to be for display purposes, but certainly could prove some function. The soldier is also not skimping on the total package as he does have the side plate in place along with a S&S Precision 2-Magazine Pouch that goes with the Plate Frame.
