The developments of the equipment for the safety of soldiers has grown in leaps and bounds. There is always room for improvement, but this video is a testament to what the US Army has done thus fare with their Program Executive Office Soldier to help save lives in the battlefield. The other important aspect is the increased lethality provided by potentially keeping any soldier on their feet after being hit and continue in the fight. These are two factors that will be of great consequence, especially with the possibilities of a shrinking force.
