Australia SOTG Celebrates Special Operations Engineer Regiment

Everyone knows you don't need a first birthday before you can eat some cake. At Camp Russell in Tarin Kot, the Aussie Special Operations Task Group kicked things off right with a get together to celebrate the new addition of the Special Operations Engineer Regiment. This distinction from conventional engineers  marks their specialized training and capabilities in support with the Special Operations Command.

They will be based out of Holsworthy Barracks in New South Wales along with the 2nd Commando Regiment. Essentially the function stays the same, while the name  changes. The newest addition of the SOER coincided with the 111th Birthday of the Australian Army.
