SpecOpShop MultiCam SOU Shirt and Pants

Talking with operators about their needs in the field is the ultimate way to gain proper feedback in designing clothing that will be comfortable and functional. This is exactly what SpecOpShop did to create their latest Special OPS Uniform with a MultiCam Shirt and Pants.

SOU Shirt Special OPS Uniform
The SOU Shirt was designed for used outside the wire. It features a zipper combined with velcro enclosure at the front for maximum comfort when wearing a plate carrier or other PPE. Slanted chest pockets are placed for easy side access while wearing carriers.

SOU Bicep Pocket
There are concealed bicep pockets with ergonomic zipper openings and a horizontal pen pocket enclosed. They felt that velcro openings were an ultimate failure when wanting to maintain silence during any mission.

External hook and loop is present on these pockets for any needed insignia and other identification. There are split pockets on each forearm for pens, Cyalume, or other like sized instruments.

The cuffs are buttoned shut and the shirt tail is properly measured for blousing. Other comfort features include a four-way stretch gussted armpits for increased breathing.

The SOU Shirt does have a Mandarin Collar. We like the finesse that went into designing this shirt to alter many features to meet the needs put out by operators that would actually use it.

The SOU Pants have some high quality special touches of its own. First of all, it does away with the need for a drawstring at the waist. Instead it incorporates a much more comfortable form fitting elastic band. Other creature comforts include a gusseted crotch with 4-way stretch to help with air flow. And if that isn't enough to let the boys breath, upon special request, they integrated a 12 inch zipper on the out seam running clear to the ankle, allowing for easy removal while still wearing your boots. We are sure you could think up multiple purposes for this, but relaxing and letting things air out sounds good enough to us.

MultiCam SOU Pants
There are plenty of options for utility storage in the Special Ops Uniform Pants including hip pockets for multi-tools or blades. The rear pockets are very ample for dumping spent magazines.

Concealed Zipper Cargo Pocket
The Cargo pockets have a three button closure as well as a concealed zipper easy entry  when pants are stretched from sitting or kneeling. Each cargo pocket includes an elastic magazine holder.

They just recently adapted the new MultiCam pants to move the original calf pocket to right above the cargo pocket for more functional quick use. There are also velcro closures at the foot cuffs for a snug boot fit.

While the latest incarnation of the SOU Uniform has been introduced in the ubiquitous MultiCam, other camouflage options include ACU (UCP), Desert Digital, Woodland, and 3-Color Desert. Solid colors include Ranger Green, Coyote, Khaki, and Black.

Their selection runs the gamut based on operator necessity and A-TACS has been of interest as well which could become a selection in the future along with other patterns as demand comes calling.

The complete Special Ops Uniform in MultiCam averages out to around $125 per piece, which is a comparable value against similar products when you consider the focused design and comfort features. The uniforms are manufactures in the USA with American materials and are available for purchase at SpecOpShop.com
