It is always wise to safely stow your food away from the prying mouths of animals, especially after lugging it around in a pack for several miles. On our last trek we found Ammo cans particularly handy, but we also didn't have to carry them with us. One unlucky soul left some food in his pack only to have a squirrel or other varmint eat a hole through the Nylon to get to the goods. Sometimes these lessons are best learned through unfortunate experiences. However, we prefer wise illustrations from Merrell to provide us with priceless knowledge.
