New HPG Mountain Serape

We see the guys over at Hill People Gear are at it again. Churning out practical product for the outdoor lover in you. They know the need of the Backpacker is lightweight and serves a variety of functions. You only want to carry what is necessary and it better put out if you are going to lug it around.

The HPG Mountain Serape they are releasing in foliage green (seen here) and coyote brown is not just multi-purpose, but also weighs in at less than three pounds, so you can easily pack it away much like a lightweight sleeping pad. Clearly they acknowledge the utility for a hunter like themselves, but this appears a perfect fit for any one trekking from the comfort of the warm confines your casa.

Hill People Gear Mountain Serape - Foliage

The Mountain Serape will make a great coat, sleeping bag, blanket, or quick wrap. We can see that this will play well for quickly changing climates or varying altitudes. For those that want specs, it is 88" by 66"and made from a DWR coated mini ripstop material with primaloft fusion insulation, which is a great ultra-fine microfiber for warmth, water resistance, as well as comfort.

HPG Mountain Serape - Sleeping Bag

Given the variety of configurations, there are several features to make for easy conversion, including a neck zipper, hoodie, drawcord at the waist, and unique zip system for the sleeping bag option. Given the multi-functionality, we think this is a great grab at a $145 price point. Check in at for updates on their release of the HPG Mountain Serape and future product development.
