The USMC has announced a change in the wear policy for rolling up the sleeves on the Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform. For all those who liked the comfy feel of exposed forearms on a Summer day, this may be a thing of the past. It was brought down from Commandant Amos that sleeve rolling will cease as of October 24th and must remain down year round.
The full Marine Administrative Message has been provided below. Interestingly enough we saw this shot of the Commandant in Twentynine Palms, CA with sleeves up in the toasty Mojave desert on Monday. In related news it also has been reported in Military Times that the Commandant gave his seal of approval for KIA bracelets on this same visit. The two issues appear unrelated given the date stamp on the MARADMIN, but this certainly clears it all up for anyone one pondering the acceptability.
