Sometimes life deals us with situations that makes you wonder if it was just meant to be. Such is a case where this father and son are deployed and temporarily end up together at Kandahar Air Field in Afghanistan. Interestingly enough it is noted that the son married the daughter of his father's second wife. It seems they keep many things very close knit in this family.
The father Navy Commander Sullivan to the left in the photo below and son Army Captain Sullivan to the right will soon split up as the latter moves to work at an FOB in the region. It seems appropriate that the older operations planning officer is fitted with the Army UCP Camouflage while the younger generation Kiowa Pilot has the MultiCam ACU, but we guess it is befitting their respective positions in/outside the wire.
