U.S. Army Researching Waterproof Mountain Combat Boots

Gore-Tex Extended Comfort Footwear
Natick contracting in conjunction with the Army's PM SCIE has put out a request for information seeking companies who can provide a hiking boot that is durable,  offers good traction plus support for fast movement and stability, comfort and protection during long term performance on rocky terrain, and a water proof material that breathes well.

It also notes that they should come in a neutral color. Guess that rules out the immediate search for a camouflage option. Companies of interest better have their product ready to go along with corresponding documentation within the next ten days.
