SEC Gates Bids Afghanistan OEF Troops Farewell

There has been some great photos coming out of Afghanistan of Secretary Robert Gates final trip to Afghanistan.  He was there on a tour to bid the military personnel taking part in Operation Enduring Freedom  farewell as he left his position as the Secretary of Defense for the US. This Video/Sideshow with one of his farewell speeches as a soundtrack, best sums up a lot of the imagery and dedication he put forth in meeting many of the great troops that helped put the operations he helped set forth into action.

This footage also shows how widespread MultiCam is making its way across the U.S. Army Uniforms through its multiple deployments. You still have plenty of Universal Camouflage, but I don't think the MultiCam shots are just there through redundancy. The majority of shots here were of the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, but there is a lot more photography out there of him visiting the Air Force as well as other ISAF and NATO nations that are our allies in OEF.

We particular liked the shot with all soldiers wearing the MultiCam Boonie hats at the 50 sec. mark. Jason Reed from Reuters did a great job in putting this all together.
