Iowa National Guard Bringing MultiCam Home

After an eight month tour and the first major deployment by the U.S. Army of the new MultiCam ACU, the Iowa National Guard is packing up for a return stateside. Many will be home with their families for the Fourth of July Weekend. Three of their soldiers were injured just yesterday in an IED attack and many are finishing up their second tour in Afghanistan.

Here is a great photo of the Task Force Red Bulls which we have followed in previous posts. They are outside their COP Najil in the Region Command East, where they made great strides in securing the region around the Combat Outpost. They also hunted down insurgents by befriending locals and helping the Afghan National Army bring more security to the area. They will be some of the first Iowa National Guard members heading back this weekend.

We salute these soldiers for serving our country well and welcome them back to celebrate its Day of Independence.
