Vermont Air National Guard On the Scene

We are in Barre, VT this week which got pounded by a thunderstorm last night. Headed down to the corner store this morning and was greeted by some massive national guard trucks and a new "lake" blocking the way to some tasty coffee.

This is a heavy traffic route leaving the city of Barre and going to the capital in Montpelier. Overnight the neighboring rivers and waterways swelled and deposited mud and sand all around the town. Many houses had their basements filled with water and some cars were swallowed by sinkholes. Clearly they have the assistance early on the scene with these Vermont National Guard trucks onsite at 7am if not earlier.
