UK Royal Marines in MTP Shorts

These Royal Marines really know how to let loose in their Multi-Terrain Pattern Shorts and sandals while celebrating the Royal wedding that took place late last month. We have seen the MultiCam pattern on shorts, so it is no surprise to see these British troops keeping cool with their own Crye Precision camouflage variant while in Afghanistan.

Obviously these are military clothing items focused  for R&R, but it is not unheard of for British troops to wear shorts into combat. With the United Kingdom's wide reach grasp in the 20th century, the military was based in many temperate climates. Bermuda shorts were a military invention to keep cool in these muggy environments. Living in a desert I could see a definite function for wearing shorts almost year round.
