Colt Peacemaker Named Official Arizona State Gun

Governor Jan Brewer signed a bill today making the Colt Single-Action Army Revolver the State Gun of Arizona. This action comes shortly after Utah designated the Browning M1911 as their state gun.

While it is noted in the Associated Press that Colt manufactures their guns in Connecticut, the fact that it was used in the Wild West days takes precedence over home state production. I for one wouldn't overlook its nearly 20 years in military service and contribution to influencing many future revolvers.
